Removing Colour Cast

Ken Matcham sent me this great picture asking the best way to tone down the tones in the grass, which is a common problem. We look at two different methods the first in Photoshop and the 2nd in Camera Raw

Match Color - I first used this technique in a video a while ago and it is also very popular at my talks, this has to be my favorite way to remove colours cast  from an image. No messing, it’s quick, easy and adjustable what more could we want!? :) In this video we also take a look at adjusting Levels in selected areas of the image

It can be difficult to see how an image really looks if it has colour cast affecting it yet alone if it’s multiple images.

Removing colour cast from multiple images using Camera Raw and Bridge.

Match Color - In this video we first look at correcting the colour cast and bringing out the details in the image. We then see how by darkening down the sky slightly not only does this bring out the detail in the clouds but it also holds us in the image. Finally we look at slightly adjusting some of the colours in the image.

With thanks to Geoff for the image

Color Balance - This image was taken under the shade of a tree which made some of the details a little lost.Using Shadow and Highlights we see how we can restore the detail before going on to removing a slight colour cast and adding a vignette
